Analytics and reporting
How to track mobile campaign performance and understand user behavior in the Zeta Marketing Platform (ZMP).
Every interaction with a push notification, in-app message, or inbox entry generates an event that flows back into ZMP. This section explains where to find campaign metrics, how to interpret them, and how those same events power your audience segments and campaign triggers.
In this section
- Campaign reporting -- where to find campaign metrics (sent, delivered, clicked, skipped, failed), how to interpret them, and how to export data using ZMP's Report Builder.
- Event tracking overview -- what events the SDK tracks automatically, what custom events your development team can add, and how events feed into segmentation and campaign triggers.
Key concepts
- Metrics flow from the SDK to ZMP. When a user interacts with a push notification, in-app message, or inbox entry, the SDK sends the engagement event to ZMP. These events appear in your campaign reports.
- Events power segmentation. Every event the SDK tracks (app opens, screen views, custom events) is available as a filter when building audience segments. This lets you target users based on their in-app behavior.
- Events trigger campaigns. In Experience Builder, you can use SDK events as campaign triggers. For example, trigger a push notification when a user views a product page but does not purchase within 24 hours.
